Day 1: Krakow Old Town
Having escaped destruction during World War II, the city has uniquely retained its charming medieval form. The central Market Square – the largest in Europe – is where several of the city’s architectural and cultural landmarks can be found, such as the Cloth Hall which today houses a gallery of Polish paintings and St Mary’s Church, world-famous for its altar carved by Veit Stoss. Kraków is the home of the Jagiellonian University, founded in 1364.
Highlander style dinner: Dinner in a highlander style restaurant is a good idea for all clients looking for a cosy place and a laid-back atmosphere. Simple, yet delicious traditional dishes and an accompaniment of a Highlander’s band make you already feel like in Tatra Mountains.
Folklore dinner: We can invite a folklore band to any of the restaurants in Krakow. The performance will include live folklore music, dancers presenting traditional dances of the region and Lajkonik – half-man, half-horse from Krakow lenegds. As a highlight of the evening the dancers will invite you to a dancing course and arrange a small contest.
Day 2: Kazimierz District tour
Its soul perished during the traumatic events of the Second World War, but many of its buildings, some still with Yiddish inscriptions, survived.
Highlights include Szeroka Street, where “Schindler’s List” was filmed, the Isaac, High, and Old Synagogues, Remuh Synagogue and Cemetery, and the Pod Orłem (“Eagle”) Pharmacy.
Day 3: Auschwitz
Experience one of the most memorable lessons of modern European history. The flower strewn Death Wall, national memorials, the railway line and ramp and the remains of hundreds of barracks, all this forms a moving testimony to the number of lost lives as a result of Nazi atrocities across occupied Europe.
Day 4: Dunajec Gorge – raft trip – Homole Gorge
A gentle raft trip set against a wonderful backdrop of forests and sheer limestone crags. Starting from the village of Katy, guests embark on wooden rafts navigated downstream by local raftsmen in traditional regional costume. It is the only way to admire the stunning landscapes of this strictly regulated natural reserve.
Homole Gorge nature reserve is 800m beautiful, leisurely walk, along Kamionka stream, between steep rocky walls. Arriving to the top one can admire the panorama over Pieniny (and Tatars – on good whether) and visit the mountain hut of local shepherds producing delicious , smoked sheep cheeses.
Day 5: Hiking to Trzy Korony
Trzy Korony is the highest peak of the Central Pieniny chain. pass. Slopes are cut by deep valleys of streams and covered with forest. The trail leads through the woods with beautiful
panoramas opening here and there. Going down to Szczawnica one can pass by the ruins of Zamek Pieninski stronghold. The place lost in the mountains was a last hideout of the royal families during the invasions of enemies.
Day 6: Krakow – Auschwitz – Krakow
